I offer mountain bike coaching sessions at Thetford Forest in Norfolk. Whether you’re new to riding off-road or want to develop specific skills, coaching is tailored to how you ride and what you want to improve.

Sessions are suitable for all levels and focus on practical progress through clear, honest feedback.

Mountain biking doesn’t have to mean riding down steep terrain. It can be as simple as getting out into the countryside on off-road tracks and trails. Local routes like Peddars Way are great examples – long, mostly unpaved, and ideal for this type of riding.

Mountain Bike Coaching Sessions

I work with riders of all levels through 1 to 1 mountain bike coaching sessions at Thetford Forest.

All sessions are tailored to you – your current ability, the type of riding you do, and what you want to get better at.

There’s no set course or group format. Every session is built around your goals – learning the basics, improving control, or working through specific things you’re finding difficult, so you can ride with more confidence and consistency.

Beginner Coaching

For people who are just starting out. We’ll cover:

  • Setting your bike up for comfort and control
  • Braking, balance, and gear use
  • Body position on different trail surfaces
  • Riding easy trails with confidence

Intermediate Coaching

For riders who are comfortable on a bike but want to improve. Some example focus areas are:

  • Cornering technique
  • Maintaining speed through uneven ground
  • Climbing and descending with better control
  • Line choice and trail awareness

Advanced Coaching

For riders with experience who want to fine-tune their technique and ride more efficiently. Sessions might include:

  • Improving flow and energy management
  • Reading trail features and adjusting technique
  • Smoother cornering and better line choice
  • Tackling longer rides with more consistency and control

If you want to improve your riding with clear, structured support, then yes – mountain bike coaching could be a good fit. These sessions are for anyone who wants to ride with more confidence, control and consistency.

You might be completely new to mountain biking, returning after time off, or already riding and keen to work on specific skills. Coaching is useful at any stage – there’s always something to refine, adjust, or understand better.

It doesn’t matter if you ride trail centres, bridleways, or local loops from your doorstep – the fundamentals apply everywhere, good coaching makes a difference to every ride.

Coaching takes place at Thetford Forest, with easy access from Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire. It’s a great place for learning, with wide, open spaces and gentle gradients that work well for skill drills. The trails are progressive and fairly timid, with everything rollable – ideal for building confidence without feeling out of your depth.

You don’t need to be fast or fit – just ready to learn.

Session Options & Pricing:

2-Hour Session £90

A great option for focusing on one or two key skills. It's perfect for mastering your cornering, improving your braking, or getting more comfortable on tricky terrain in a short amount of time.

3-Hour Session £120

If you want a bit more time to really work on your technique, this session gives you the chance to cover a variety of skills, with plenty of time for practice and feedback. We’ll also hit some fun trails to put those skills to the test.

4-Hour Session £150

For those who want to dive deeper into their riding, this longer session gives us the time to go through a wider range of skills, as well as tackle more technical trails. It’s perfect if you’re aiming to make more noticeable progress and improve your overall riding experience.

I’m an experienced rider and coach, and I work with riders of all levels. Whether you’ve been riding for years or are completely new to mountain biking, I’ll help you identify what’s holding you back and guide you through how to improve it — one step at a time, and always at your pace.

I’ve been riding for years and spend most of my free time on the bike – learning, exploring, and just enjoying being out on the trails. I love mountain biking, and I really enjoy helping people feel more confident and capable when they ride.

I bring a calm, encouraging approach to every session and love seeing people progress — whether that’s mastering the basics or refining more advanced technique. For me, it’s not just about riding better, it’s about enjoying the ride more.
